I always enjoy the cut glass, silver pieces, and embroidered linens. My granddaughter enjoys the jewelry, and we like looking at old-fashioned toys (as she says). We try to find things that I may have had as a child. Great to reminisce!

You can enjoy summer theatre, arts and crafts shows, historical tours and Bonnie Snow will take you on an amazing cemetery tour. You will even see where the Harding family has their family plot -- and then you can stay in one of the family home of Henry Harding, right here at the Whalewalk Inn & Spa. Stay at a whaling captain's home and become a part of its history.

Baseball at its best is back and looking forward to a great season. Games for June are listed with time and place so you can plan to see your favorite team or teams. So don't forget to bring the peanuts and Cracker Jack.

Also, Father's Day is not far away. Give Dad a special time away (at the Inn). After a gourmet breakfast at the Inn, he can enjoy the car show in Hyannis, sample Chowdah from area restaurants at the Big Blue Tent in Hyannis, and then end the day with a game of baseball. Orleans will take on Chatham at the Orleans field. We will supply the blanket or beach chairs, and Dad can take a picnic supper to the game. Doesn't get much better. Maritime Matinee: “The City that Lit the World”

Take an armchair journey to New Bedford during the height of the whaling industry. New Bedford was the mid 19th century’s preeminent whaling port and for a time “the richest city in the world.” This history is preserved today at New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, where visitors can stroll its cobblestone streets, tour the world’s largest whaling museum, visit a whaling merchant’s home and whaleman's chapel, and walk a 19th century schooner’s decks. The 45-minute program includes the film and brief remarks by a park ranger.

Hope everyone had a great Super Bowl weekend. We were very fortunate to have neighbors in to celebrate the game with chili and all the fixings, plus some great deserts to cool off the heat of the chili.

Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum Show Art Treasures

The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (PMPM) is proud to announce that it will be exhibiting world renowned art treasures for public viewing at a special winter opening.

On Valentines Day/President’s Day weekend, The PMPM will open its doors to the public with free admission to view five paintings that are on loan from the Town of Provincetown Art Collection.

These incredible works of art are on loan and being exhibited for the first time since the closing of Provincetown Town Hall due to the current renovation project.

The exhibition features the 1915 masterpiece by Charles W. Hawthorne, “The Crew of the Philomena.” Other works on display are by artists Max Bohm, Frederick Judd Waugh, William Halsall and George Elmer Browne. Hawthorne established the Cape Cod School of Art in 1899 and taught hundreds of artists who traveled to Provincetown to study with him until his untimely death in 1930 at the age of 58. Eventide Arts presents "Brian Morris & Friends"

Composer/songwriter Brian Morris appears in concert as part of the Eventide Arts "Voices of Cape Cod" series. Morris has been a professional composer for over 25years. His compositions have been heard on national television and radio, and in various other media. As as songwriter, he has won numerous awards, including two Grand Prize awards in Eventide’s annual "Songfest" competition, and First Place in the Great American Song Competition (Gospel category) in 2005.

The weekend of October 24th through 26th brought a really nice group of people to the Inn. We shared in anniversaries, birthdays, and family get-to-gethers. Guests enjoyed the property, massages, breakfast and happenings in the area. One family was especially pleased with our itineraries and spent the day finding all the sights mentioned in it. Cape Cod Happenings: Dance Festivals, Theatre, Costume Exhibit, and Home and Garden Expo

What a great past weekend! The Wellfleet Oyster Fest was just great! We all went and had a wonderful time with fresher than fresh oysters, shrimp, lobster rolls, Winslow's Tavern famous Bloody Mary's, children's festivities, live music, and quite an array of craft items. It really was a lot of fun -- in spite of the wind. However, that doesn't stop a New Englander from having a good time -- you just layer on more clothes and continue to have fun.

The marsh is changing colors with golden waves of marsh grass, white flowering bushes and dabs of red here and there. When the sun shines on the marsh it is a photo opportunity not to be missed. Ask about our special walk along Dyer Prence Road -- a small microcosm of the Cape for you to enjoy.

Saturday Walks -- If you want to get the family outdoors and get a little education while you're at it, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History hosts Family Field Walks year-round every Saturday and Sunday (and Monday-Friday in July and August). Explore the John Wing Trail at the museum with a trained naturalist, who will give you all the facts about marsh, oak-pine forest and beach habitats. The one-and-a-half hour walk covers 1.2 miles, so even the little ones can enjoy it. Cost is free with museum admission. Call 508-896-3867 for time of hike.

Arts and crafts: Saturday, October 11th and Sunday the 12th at Nauset Middle School in Orleans where a visit to the Cape area isn't complete without a peek at what local artisans have to offer. The Artisans' Guild Arts and Crafts shows, which are held five different times a year at the local Middle School, feature a vast selection of the best in local crafters' wares. CCMA will take part in the festivities in the town of Dennis during the first Annual Cape Cod Fall for the Arts Festival. Fall for the Arts is a new regional arts festival presented by the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and Cape Cod VIEW magazine featuring family friendly performances and exhibitions in the towns of Falmouth, Dennis and Hyannis throughout the weekend.

Aiden Lassell Ripley: (1896-1969) A Retrospective: A broad range of subjects by one of America’s pre-eminent painters of the sporting life in the 1940s and 50s. Sunday will be the last day for this show.

At Home on the Cape - In celebration of the Fine Arts Work Center's 40th anniversary, this show spotlights artists who came to Provincetown as Fellows for the year-long program and made Cape Cod their home.
