Garden Tours on Cape Cod

Memorial Weekend was a lot of food and fun. The ribs, chicken, beef and turkey were done to perfection. Luckily we were able to save some ribs for our granddaughter. They are her favorite.

June is definitely "busting out all over." Get on board (Cape Cod Museum of Art buses) to gaze upon the floral delights of 5 fantastic gardens on the Cape. This tour is scheduled for June 17th. There will be complimentary champagne and lunch while you learn horticulture techniques for the Cape's top gardeners. Call 508-385 -4477 for details.

In Sandwich on June 21st you may join others at the Heritage Horticulture Department for a one-day workshop to create a beautiful multi-seasonal living wreath. Call 508-888-3300, extension 102 for more details.

While on the Cape, we hope that you will stay at the Inn and take in our gardens. The wisteria is magnificant right now. We have two very old bushes that are just chock full of blooms and the fragrance is second to none -- the first, of course, being the lilacs, which are also in full bloom and are a delight to the senses. The lily of the valley, too, have added their fragrance to the Main Inn area. Soon the lilies and the daisies will be popping open, and the roses are always a treat. So come to the Cape and share in all of our horticultural delights. (And if you only have one day to get-away, check our one nights that are between two existing reservations for a 15% discount.)

The Whalewalk Inn is Smokin'

The weather is looking great and Memorial Day Weekend is two days away. Still contemplating a trip to the Cape? Well, come on down! We do still have a couple of openings for the weekend, and we would love to see you at the Inn.

Kevin is smoking ribs, beef brisket, a turkey breast and chicken. Salad ingredients are on hand and the cooking starts tomorrow. Picnic is Sunday, May 25th, from 5:30 to 7:30. It is BYO, but we will have soda on hand. Also, we are having homemade brownies for desert -- yummy!

Rooms that are available are our East Suite and the Salt Box Cottage. If you are not interested in the picnic, but want to get away, our Main Inn room 2 and Carriage House 1 are available for Friday and Saturday. See you for Memorial Day Weekend!

Orleans Historical Society Events Celebrated at the Whalewalk Inn & Spa

May 24th

The Orleans Historical Society will have their Antiques and Flea Market Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Professional Appraisers will be on sight for $5.00 an appraisal, so it will be just like the Antiques Road Show -- right here near the Whalewalk Inn & Spa. The hours are from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. So book for Memorial Day weekend, bring your treasures (maybe you will find some at the historical society) -- and, of course, on Sunday we will have our "smokin' barbecue". Make your reservations, as rooms are starting to fill up.

June 14th

Try our Granola Pizza topped with fresh fruit, especially strawberries, as we help celebrate Orleans Strawberry Festival. If you didn't have enough at breakfast, enjoy the harvest of the first fresh fruit of the season at the Orleans Historical Society's annual Strawberry Festival. Munch on homemade strawberry shortcake and quench your thirst with fresh lemonade, while listening to live music and shopping at the extraordinary plant sale and festival boutique. Call 508-240-1329 for details and reservations.
