Cape Cod Calendar of Events for 9/30 through 10/3

Outdoors is the place to be -- and the weather is looking good for the weekend. So plan to visit Cape Cod and enjoy the many events that are on the calendar. Also, nothing like a nice romantic place to share with someone special. We still have some lovely rooms available at the Inn. So pick your favorite and we will see you soon. Remember, too, that mid-week you can enjoy our off-season rates.

Tuesday, September 30 -- Illustrated program by Park Ranger Brent Ellis, "The Birth of Cape Cod National Seashore," 6:30 pm at the Salt Pond Visitor Center, Eastham, free.

Wednesday, October 1 -- Guided hike with the Eastham Hiking Club, 9 am, free, open to all, 508-255-3808. Meet at Great Island parking lot, Wellfleet.

Wednesday walks with naturalist Connie Boyce, Sandy Neck, Barnstable. Leave Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Route 6A, Brewster by van at 9 am. Call 508-896-3867 for reservations.

Thursday, October 2 -- Book discussion Marcia Dalton trail guide, "Sightings " by Sam Keen and "Silence of Songbirds" by Bridget Stutchbury, 2:00 pm, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Route 6A Brewster, free.

Poetry reading Keith Althaus, Nancy Pearson, Deborah Bernhardt, 5:30--7:30 pm, Cape Cod Museum of Art, Route 6A, Dennis

Friday, October 3 -- Archaeology lab open house tour with Fred Dunford, Cape Cod Museum of Natural History, Route 6A, Brewster, 9,000 years of human history. 508-896-3867

Saturday, October 4 -- The Harwich Historical Society's fourth annual Hometown Treasures Sale from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Brooks Academy Museum. The sale includes a wide variety of locally made crafts, collectibles, books, antique lace, farmer's market produce, attic treasures and items from the museum's gift shop. Museum is located at 80 Parallel Street, Harwich.

Looking for theatre -- The Cape Rep Theatre in East Brewster has "Dirty Blonde", a comedy with music by Claudia Shear with Trish LaRose and Ethan Paulini, September 18 through October 19, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 pm, and Sunday at 2 pm.
