Labor Day on Cape Cod--Romantic Getaway and Whalewalk Inn Picnic

Carnival was a lot of fun. There were the most floats ever and everyone seemed to have a great time -- parade revelers and onlookers alike. All of us from the Inn had a good time. After the parade we drove to Wellfleet and enjoyed the bounty at Pearl. We had one of their signature drinks, the Wellfleet Pearl Harbor. After dinner we headed home draped in carnival jewelry and memories of a great meal with even greater friends.

Next big date is Labor Day. Be sure to join us for our Labor Day Picnic. We still have a couple of rooms available. Heather, staff and I will be working on salads to round out our Labor Day feast.

Labor Day Weekend on Cape Cod

Pack your bags for the traditional last weekend of summer -- although Cape Cod weather is amazing throughout all of September (bright blue sky, clean, clear air, high 70 days, low 60 nights). This weekend we are having our Labor Day Scavenger Hunt and first prize is a two-night stay in our Carriage House 5 or 6 rooms -- depending on availability. We still have a couple of rooms available -- three-night minimum, but have a couple of two-nights available.

After looking for all your scavenger treasures, we will celebrate the winners with a complimentary picnic. The menu will include smoked ribs, chicken, and beef brisket. We will have Ann's best baked beans ever, Hot German Potato Salad, White Balsamic Corn Salad, Sir Cricket's Famous Cole Slaw, Joe Muir's Famous Bean Salad (Whalewalk Inn Style), Asian Peanut, Snap Pea and Sweet Potato Salad, and Chocolate, Chocolate Brownies.

Winners of the Scavenger Hunt will be announced after dinner. So check our availability and we will see you at the Inn.
