They say it is to visit our immaculate beaches, but I think it is for the baked Brie. Maritime Days on Cape Cod--Learn of our Rich History of Whaling, Fishing and Pleasure Boating

Tomorrow will celebrate Maritime Days with a trip to Nantucket on the Hy-Line. They have an amazing day planned for their guests, including a trip to the Whaling Museum. Other events that are offered on Cape Cod are fun and informative. Here is just a sample for May 11th. So hurry on down to the Cape and experience all the seaside knowledge and fun that we offer.

TUESDAY, MAY 11
Cape Cod Maritime Museum presents "Waters of Cape Cod" Local artists explore the nature of water in various media. Cost: Admission $5; $4 students & seniors; children 7 & under are free Information: 508-775-1723

Maritime Heritage Week at Provincetown Public Library: This 4 day event includes a maritime author forum, maritime book reading, dramatic readings from whaling journals, and sea chantey singing. Cost: Free. Information and Times: 508-487-7094,

The Other Edward Hopper: A Sailor and his Marine Paintings. Sturgis Library, Route 6A, Barnstable Village at 7:00 p.m. Learn of his nautical childhood influences, love of boats, and Cape Cod. Cost: Free. Information: 508-362-6636

Waters of Cape Cod Exhibition, May 1-31 Open during museum hours at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, Route 6A, Dennis. It features Cape Cod artists and also Ted Kennedy’s painting of Mya and various paintings from the museum collection with maritime themes. Cost: Museum admission Information: 508-385-4477.
