Publicity for the Whalewalk Inn & Spa

For all our guests who have stayed in Carriage House 5, get yourself a copy of Cape Cod View Magazine, July 2011 and see your room there. Lauren Daly did a lovely job with her article and Ron Schloerb/Cape Cod Media Group took really nice pictures. We are very happy with this press, and thank Ms. Daly for making us a part of her article, "American idyll." Check it out -- we are on page 52.

Also, readers of Cape Cod Life Magazine voted and we were are the Silver Award Winners for Bed and Breakfast/Inns on the Outer Cape.

The Boston Globe Magazine Travel Section for May 15, 2011 wrote about Eastham, Cape Cod and the Whalewalk Inn and Arnold's were the only two places mentioned -- one to stay at and one to eat at. We were very excited.

So come to the Outer Cape and see all that this area has to offer -- amazingly beautiful beaches, awesome restaurants, great shopping, and a wonderful place to relax. We have three rooms available for the July 4th weekend. Come and see us and see all that the Cape has to offer.

4th of July on Cape Cod -- Fireworks, Picnics, and Parades

July 4th weekend is just around the corner. At the Whalewalk Inn & Spa, we are getting ready for all the festivities. Friday, July 1st (with a rain date of July 2) will be our famous complimentary holiday picnic followed by fireworks at Rock Harbor.

Come early -- dinner will be at 6:00 with smoked ribs, chicken and brisket, summer salads and brownies for desert. BYOB your own drinks and we will do the rest.

After dinner, we will all walk down to the fireworks at Rock Harbor. It is about a 15 minute walk, and the display is really beautiful -- they are right over your head and the sound effects are amazing.

The Orleans Parade is July 4th at 10:00 a.m. or celebrate an old fashioned 4th at the Eastham 1869 Schoolhouse from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Have a couple rooms left, so book today and be a part of all the fun 4th of July weekend activities.

Father's Day Dining on Cape Cod -- and a Romantic Getaway, Too!

Now that Dad has his Gift Certificate deal in hand (see previous Blog or below for details), has been welcomed, and is enjoying his stay, he will need to know about restaurants in the area. If Dad likes the sports scene, then he will enjoy the food and ambiance at Mahoney's, Land Ho!, and Joe's Beach Bar and Grill. All three have bar areas with TV for sports viewing and support for favorite teams (as long as it is a Massachusetts's team.)

If Dad likes a more upscale style of dining, he would certainly like Abba, Captain Linnell House, Nauset Beach Club, or the Brewster Fish House. All four restaurants serve amazing food, but the presentation is above and beyond -- pleasing to the eye and to the palate.

For casual dining with upscale food, Dad may want to try Academy Ocean Grille, Wicked Oyster, or Winslow's Tavern.

Maybe Dad just likes the clam shack feel for dinner. We would suggest the Bookstore, Pearl, Arnold's, the Friendly Fisherman, or BYOB to Sir Cricket's.

Does Dad like fried chicken while Mom likes lobster? Well the place to go is the Marconi Grille. They serve the best fried chicken north of Georgia. Give them a try for sure. They also have many fish entrees and smoked ribs and chicken.

Best of all enjoy the breakfasts here at the Whalewalk Inn & Spa. For Father's Day we make an amazing corned beef hash with fried egg on top -- and the guys here insist that home fries are part of any man's breakfast. So come to the inn and celebrate Dad's special day! Book online or call 508-255-0617 for reservations or to buy your gift certificate. (FOR EVERY $100 YOU SPEND ON A GIFT CERTIFICATE, WE WILL ADD AN EXTRA $10. OFFER EXPIRES JUNE 20,2011.)

Father's Day Around the Corner -- Give Dad a Trip to Cape Cod

Father's Day is fast approaching. Give Dad a fishing weekend getaway to celebrate this special day. Kevin will be happy to share some of his fishing hole secrets -- I even know a couple of them, too.

If you prefer, book one of the fishing boats in the Rock Harbor fleet. They will provide a stupendous day of fishing. The stripers are running, and put up a nice little fight.

If fishing isn't Dad's thing, the Cape Cod National Seashore is also just around the corner. After a stop at the Visitor's Center for trail maps, Dad can enjoy a hike through Red Maple Cedar Swamp and the Fort Hill Trail. There are other trails to follow also. Here, too, he can get a free permit and build a campfire at any of the Sheashore's six swimming beaches, including Coast Guard Beach -- in Eastham and 10 minutes away from The Whalewalk Inn & Spa.

So book a room for Dad and guest, or buy him a gift certificate so he can come on a weekend that works with his busy schedule. FOR EVERY $100 DOLLARS YOU SPEND ON A GIFT CERTIFICATE, WE WILL ADD $10 EXTRA. OFFER EXPIRES JUNE 20TH. So order your certificate today either on our website, or call 508-255-0617.
